I don’t usually watch the G4 channel, but for some reason it seemed appropriate this morning. They created some great screen captures of the game play and talk about perspectives such as “first person shooter games”. I thought I’d collect a few in this post that can demonstrate multiple perspectives – even several in one game. Click on the images below to see video of the screen play and hear multiple gamers’ reflections. I’m going to start with some older games first.
These next two were my favorites when I was in middle school.
These next two games show the difference in “3D” graphics over time. Check out The Legend of Zelda and The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.
I could list a million Wii games here, because the various perspectives they offer (even the physicality of game play – whether you’re playing drums, bowling, or practicing yoga).
Okay, the next game, Portal is one that intentionally messes with space and movement.
I’ll post some more games soon. Until then, any ideas about games that first changed the perspective of game play or ones like Portal that take it to another level?
this is interesting, I like the choice of games!
